| Description | Sommerville: Egyptian jasper. A Bacchante, ornamented with grapes and leaves. Gold and Bronze Rings - Cameos, Case QQQ. Vermeule: Egyptian jasper. (Sardonyx). Cameo. (Gold ring mount-remounted) Draped bust of a Maenad facing left. A fillet with grape leaves and clusters appears in her hair, a panther's skin? carved on shoulder and she wears an animal skin chiton. Italian, probably 18th century work, perhaps later. |
