| Description | Export miaojin (描金) black lacquered wooden chest with a metal lock/clasp with two hinges and two handles. It was most likely used as a tea caddy. The top and sides have intricate landscape scenes in gold with touches of red and green. The landscapes include many figures, buildings, and boats. A band of dragons frames the scene on the top of the chest. The lockplate is marked PATHNT. |
