| Description | Carved in the form of a sea animal. Hollow of bowl oval. All of top and interior of dish painted red. Red and black painting on sides conventionalized. Details of animal's head carved. Black paint on lips, around lateral nostrils, and irises. Area about eye painted green. Long, red, protruding tongue divided and front part nailed in place. Small slot on head. Differs from -281 only in looking newer, carving more crude, back end not blackened, and ridge at neck line. |
