| Description | Dagger made from copper. The blade has two longitudinal grooves on either side of a center line- a result of a reinforcing rib of copper added to strengthen the blade. The hilt is an extension of the blade covered by two pieces of wood wrapped with a caribou hide strip. The pommel is made from copper and represents a sun. The sun has facial features with eyes and teeth inlaid with abalone shell. The sun pommel is also a rattle. A plate at the base of the blade is made from musk-ox horn and is held in place with copper rivets. |
