| Description | Vermeule: Carnelian. Intaglio. (Modern gold swivel ring setting) Minerva seated to left, on a ship prow, holds grain ears and rudder in right hand, a cornucopia in left. Inscription in Latin letters A. MICUS. Allusion is probably to Rome's overseas commerce. Minerva like Mercury was a patron of enterprise, particularly fair trade. Graeco-Roman. |
