| Description | Sommerville: Antique paste intaglio, color topaz. A Galleria, or ancient rowboat; a dove soaring above. Antique Pastes, Case ZZZ. Vermeule Card 1: Glass paste, imitating Topaz. Intaglio. (Unmounted) A Roman naval galley moving to right. It is surmounted by a Roman heraldic eagle on an orb. Roman Imperial, II or III A.D. Vermeule Card 2: Sard. Intaglio (unmounted). A galley going to right. In it appears to be three men and three Roman Military standards. Graeco-Roma, the style of cutting is quite similar to the Arrias medallion of Constantius I. |
