| Description | Three dimensional puppet with wooden torso, wooden head, wooden arms, articulated at shoulder and elbows, cotton skirt from waist down. Puppet is held and operated by a wooden stick which passes through a hole in the torso and into the base of the head and by sticks attached to the hands. Face light pink, rest of skin gold, except torso brown chipping to gold. narrow eyes, small hooked nose. Black hairdress in curls at bottom, two points at back. Headdress with crown, ear ornaments, and pink garuda mungkur. Blue and red ornaments at upper arms, red rings at wrists. Wrists somewhat flexed. Black velvet chest cover with narrow gold rickrack around edges, broad gold band at neck. Black velvet sash. Batik skirt; cream with sprays of dark blue flowers and elaves, dark border with flowers and leaves at bottom. Soiled. Unidentified male character. |
