| Description | Wooden Katsina doll. The face is painted green with a horizontal black band at the mouth and red and yellow beneath it. The mouth is a protruding snout. The eyes are tapering rectangles and the ears are red and semicircular. A tuft of feathers is attached to the top of the head. The body is painted red, green and yellow and a kilt is painted around the waist. This figure is likely a Tasap Katsina, a representation of a Navajo person. (Wright, B., 1973 #180) |
