| Description | Sommerville: Green jasper. Vespasian, ninth Emperor of Rome; laureated with gold. Greek and Roman Cameos, Case B. Vermeule: Green Jasper. Cameo. [unmounted] Draped bust of a man resembling the Emperor Galba or Vespasian facing to left. The wreath is made seperately of gold. The stone which is broken at the lower left has been remounted in a thin metal casing. Italian work of the 15th Century. |
