| Description | The collector, J.T. Huston, labeled this object as coming from the Arrernte people; however, the geographical location does not align with the Arrernte territory and therefore the object has not been assigned a cultural group. A dark wooden club with etchings along its entire length. The handle comes to a dull point with an uneven clubhead on the other. The etchings are zigzag lines which create a diamond pattern along the handle. “...note the pattern, a slight evidence of the tribes New Guinea origin. Is thrown also used as a club.” (Collector’s Object List) |
