Basket

Cane; large; round with with squarish, rounded bottom with Large, Pigmented corners. Sides slope inward; twilled plaiting. Bottom done in over 3, under 6; bottom 2/3 of sides done in over 4 under 4, while top of sides is over 2 under 2. A raised rim divides the sides all way round; apparently done by looping 3 strips of cane together in a complicated fashion and catching one on the sides of basket with every stitch. Top rim finished same way by winding strips together in a double row. Decoration: wefts (horizontal strips) turned over so rougher, darker side is on outside and the shiny side inside; this appears on the sides only.
