Description

Five thicknesses of bark cloth fastened together on one long side. Natural color, top layer patterned with intricate black bands. All layers watermarked. Woman’s skirt (pa’u). Acquired on the United States Exploring Expedition (1838-1842) by Titian R. Peale. “Female attire” on Peale list. Ka Hana Kapa #393.
