| Description | The limestone fragment originates from a funerary stela. Although only part of the posterior half of the male figure is preserved, his beloved wife, “the sole ornamented one of the king, Bebi,” is identifiable through a hieroglyphic text in raised relief positioned between the two figures and is preserved down to the waist. Both figures wear wigs composed of vertical rows of curls: the male individual dons a tucked, shoulder-length wig, while his wife wears a tripartite wig. Notably, the rimmed eye, characteristic of reliefs from Dendera during the First Intermediate Period, is clearly visible. |
