| Description | Core? Rock with flat two parallel flat sides. All sides appear to have had been flaked away. Large chip from one edge. Grey stone. This is one of a group of objects whose use is ambiguous. Each of the four pieces, 57-5-2, 57-5-3, 57-5-4 and 57-5-5 has clear similarities in form. Their angled features indicate they are the result of a specific and intentional process of stone chipping. One edge has been reworked with a minimal amount of chipping to create a concave curve. The crudeness of these forms along with the small assembly of items from this site appear to represent Late Paleolithic stone tool technology. |
