| Description | Red ware, painted. Globular set on cylindrical hollow base containing rattle. Small, neck missing. Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a globular body, missing neck, rounded rim, 1 strap handle extending from the neck to the body, and a rattle base. No molded/modeled additions. rattle. The vessel is painted with vertical stripes in red, orange, and black. The rattle base has openwork cut in a geometric pattern. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1871a." |
