| Description | Woman's ceremonial blouse (halili kuluma kaju). Black barkcloth with white and yellow barkcloth applique decorations: buffalo heads and betel chewing motifs (areca nut, betel, lime container, areca knife). White saw-tooth borders at neck, sleeves, bottom. Black barkcloth from nunu lero (Ficus sp.: probably Ficus infectoria) (see samples 87-8-29/31). White and yellow appliques from ambo (Broussonetia papyrifera), no longer cultivated in region. (See samples 87-8-45) Yellow sections colored with turmeric root (kunyi'). Made by Tina Idjo. |
