Flattened bottom, melon grooved body, cylindrical neck, one vertical loop handle on body, fine black jug

Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an effigy-fruit shaped body, cylindrical neck, rounded rim, 1 strap handle on the body, and a flat base. The body has wide incised lines running vertically, representing the shape of a lobed fruit. There is also a band around the join of the neck to the body with an incised geometric design. The handle is also decorated with incised geometric design. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in a reducing atmosphere as the surface is black and the interior is gray in color. The band around the neck is appliqued and incised. There is incised decoration on the handle as well. Evidence of usewear includes surface attrition on the bottom. The catalogue number is written in black ink on the interior of neck. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "3308."
