| Description | Vermeule: Sard. Intaglio. (Modern silver ring setting) Bust of a young man facing to right; wearing an animal skin knotted about his neck. The design has no parallel among young Herakles types and perhaps one may rather see a Renaissance prince represented under the guise of Herakles. Intaglio border in three bands. Italian, probably 16th century. |
