| Description | Bucchero Pesante oinochoe; relief of feline on top of band handle. Thrown and tooled. A trefoil-mouthed jug, ovoid body and low flaring foot. Decoration: frieze of relief tongues on shoulder, relief bands on neck and body, relief crouching feline on strap handle. Fabric: Dark gray core, fine grained and evenly fired. Smooth glossy black surface. Intact except for some chipping and pitting. Technique: Thrown, handle molded, surfaces burnished. |
