| Description | A color woodblock print showing a scene from the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-5. It depicts hand-to-hand combat with swords and bayonets between Japanese and Chinese soldiers. There are Japanese inscriptions along lower left corner and upper right corner. It is one of three sheets from a triptych. This is the left most sheet. The other two are missing. The title is: 朝鮮国牙山開戦日本大勝利之図, "Japanese victory at the Battle of Asan". The artist is Utagawa Yoshitora II (歌川國乕). |
