| Description | Carved of light-colored wood to represent a crocodile(?). Back is fairly broad - may be a stool. Sides which serve as the stand, are incised with curvilinear designs as is the tail; face carved on each of the sides with nose perforated and a string tassel is tied through. Similar tassel through nose of crocodile. Porbably not from the Sepik River but shows Sepik influence. |
