| Description | Sommerville: Serpentine. Intaglio. Abraxas, with inscription. Abraxas, Gnostic Gems, Etc, Case HH. Vermeule: Oval shaped serpentine intaglio. (Unmounted). A terminal figure flanked by a palm tree and a representation of the cock-headed god, his body terminating in a fish tail. Sun and moon above, stars in the field, a landscape and "meaningless" (magical) greek letters below. 1956 Exhibition #315. |
