| Description | Slander tapering, with flaring rim; one vertical loop handle on shoulder. Plain. Tall. Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an elongated body, hyperboloid neck, rounded rim, 1 strap handle on the body, and a rounded base. There are no molded/modeled additions and no decoration. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange and gray in color. Fireclouding is present on the base and body. The vessel is irregularly burnished. Evidence of usewear includes chips/losses. The bottom of the vessel has a large hole in it, possibly from use. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink. Black ink on the interior of the neck reads: "1918." |
